Take Me Away 03:51
TAKE ME AWAY In your cities down on the street Move to the rhythm of all those feet Feed your distraction with your conceits The artificial rises and is complete All your houses and all your rooms Are bathed in the light of a flickering blue Through the ether and on our screens The banality before us is so obscene Oh take me away, take me away from here Take me away, take me away from here my friend Through these valleys and on this beach I move to the rhythm of a world so sweet In this forest and through these trees I move to the sound of a sweet melody Oh take me away, take me away to here Take me away, take me away to here my friend Oh take me away, take me away to here Take me away, take me away to here my friend Take me away, take me away to here Take me away, take me away to here my friend In this valley and in these trees I get to see all these stars for free Through this forest and through these trees I move to the sound of a sweet melody

DOWN (TO THE SEA) Rumours of a breeze upon your skin Truth is its summer heat that you're breathing in Somnolence is the only world you know Languid is her breath as she moves slow Secrets, secrets that lovers tell And little lies those little lies you know them all too well Brightness, brightness is all that you can see The future is now, where you want to be Run through the forest running through the trees Fast through the shadows and light, rush into the sea Wash away your secrets, wash away your sins Loose yourself in the cool embrace of all that you have been I was dreaming that I was dreaming in my dream Babylon, oh Babylon I hear you singing to me Somewhere other than awake, but not quite asleep Forever and the blue sky stretching out before me, calling me Run through the forest running through the trees Fast through the shadows and light, rush into the sea Wash away your secrets, wash away your sins Loose yourself in the cool embrace of all that you have been

about

OK so it's a single and not an album but you gotta start somewhere right! Well Joeys Coop started by recruiting a who's who of the 1980s and 90s Sydney indy scene. Not content with becoming a tribute act to the bands they made their names in these guys play all new all original material of the highest quality. These two tunes are a perfect taste of what they deliver - melodic, powerful, haunting and memorable songs. Hope you enjoy and want to come back for more.

Recorded at Alberts Studio and produced by singer / songwriter Wayne Connolly (Welcome Mat, Knievel).

Their songs tell tales of fractured family, loss, the oddities of 21st century life, the burdens of over-leveraged real estate commitments, mid life existential angst, memories of landscape lost and mediations on the lives of friends gone wrong - all this against a background of powerful and memorable tunes. ... more
